Domino is still standing. After initially deciding to postpone the picture, New Line Cinema and filmmaker Tony Scott have now opted to stick with the original August release date for the thriller Domino, about a model turned bounty hunter, following the sudden death of the woman who served as the movie’s inspiration.

Domino Harvey, the 35-year-old daughter of the late British actor Laurence Harvey, was found dead Monday in the bathtub of her West Hollywood apartment. Former supermodel-turned-bounty hunter Domino Harvey was found dead in a bathtub in her West Hollywood home on Monday night. She was 35. The daughter of late English actor Laurence Harvey - who starred in the original 1962 The Manchurian Candidate - and model Paulene Stone, was facing a possible life jail sentence over drug charges filed last year. Domino quit modeling 12 years ago to capture fugitives and criminals who had jumped bail. Police Lieutenant Don Mauldin says, “We got a call at 10:30 last night, saying that possibly a person had drowned in a bathtub. A friend or relative had called 911 from the house for paramedics. She was found in the bathtub.” Mauldin denied rumors a gun was involved in the demise, saying, “If it was a gunshot wound or a suicide, then we would have sent investigators to the scene - that did not happen.” The Los Angeles coroner is set to perform toxicology tests to see if drugs were involved.

Domino’s life story has recently been the subject of Keira Knightley’s new movie Domino, which is scheduled to hit cinema screens in the UK in August, although it may now be delayed to incorporate the former model’s death into the storyline.

Gah! I hate this!!!! I’m itching to see this!!!!! New Line writes in to say that in no way, shape or form was DOMINO rescheduled because of the recent legal issues of the real Domino Harvey as speculated upon below. The film was, they claim, scheduled for a new date, well before this happened. The trailer showed promise and only served to get me more riled up. The film was scheduled to be released this August but now New Line has decided to push the film back until November 4th. Reasons for the delay were not announced but it is interesting to note that the real Domino Harvey was arrested and charged with conspiracy to distribute drugs, possession, trafficking and racketeering last week. Not sure exactly what impact that would have on the film but it may bide the studio some time to add a brief coda or simply have Harvey available to do press. Taken from JoBlo.com

Just a bit of a heads up on Domino. The official site was launched a few days ago and it has the trailer in flash available on the site (not much else, but more to come soon), LOTS better quality than the yahoo! version. It sadly doesn’t show much of Mena - only one scene where shes with Christopher Walken. I did make a capture tho. If the trailer is anything to go by this is going to be one visually fantastic movie! Can’t Wait!

Quick heads up - Yahoo has just put up the first trailer for Domino. It’s not the best quality - I couldn’t pick Mena, but I hope once a quicktime version comes up we can see her in it!
